Mr. Vadis Vinecus Greene, affectionately known as "Pee Wee," was born in Laurens, SC on November 20, 1971, and passed away at his residence on January 22, 2024.
Vadis was the son of Lenda Greene and the late L.T. Foggie. Preceding him in death, in addition to his father, were his grandmothers whom he loved dearly: Dorothy I. Greene and Ella Mae Foggie.
Vadis attended Laurens County Public Schools. After graduating high school, he worked primarily as a barber, most recently from his home and with Makins Barber Shop. Many years ago, he was recognized for his talent, receiving an award for the best barber in Laurens County. As a youth, he fellowshipped at St. Paul First Baptist Church. Vadis had many passions, including drawing, cooking, cars, sci-fi, history, and comedy. He was always humorous and had a good joke or story to tell. And if he were here, he would tell you with the utmost sincerity that he loved you all. He was a loving son, father, brother, and friend. He will live on in our hearts forever.
Vadis leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife Ashely Greene of the home; six children: Destin Greene, Trinity Greene, Jaden Greene, Jordan Greene, Kardi Greene, and Vadis Greene Jr., all of Laurens; four siblings: Yvette Carter (Andrew) of Laurens, SC, Victor Foggie of Clinton, SC, Sabrina Jordan of Laurens, SC, and Althea Young (Durcee Hill) of Fountain Inn, SC; special nieces: Yasmine Caprice Foggie, Tristan Carter, and Nadeya Greene; special cousins: Lawrence Gilbert, Lari Gilbert, Kimberly Greene, Laquittia Greene, John Greene, and Phillip McClintock; several special friends who shared a brotherhood: Richard Lee Nance Jr., Roderick Henderson, Roger Hunter, Chris McDowell, Christopher “Grady" Miller, Eric Johnson, Otis Hunter, Constanza Mycie Williams, Shante Smith, and Tony McDowell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at the family’s home at 1214 Chestnut Street Ext., Laurens, SC 29360. Floyd Family Funeral Home will be responsible for all service arrangements. Visitation will be held Friday, January 26 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Floyd Family Funeral Home Chapel.
