Tommy Byrd Obituary
Tommy “Shorty” Byrd of Laurens, SC, born August 30, 1940, the son of the late Tommy Lee and Ollie Vera Byrd, passed April 23, 2022, at Prisma Hospital in Laurens County.
Shorty leaves behind to cherish his memory, a devoted stepdaughter Doris Council of Laurens, SC, siblings; Jessie Benson of Greensboro, NC, Ollie Byrd of Greenville, SC, Jimmy "Jay" Byrd of Elgin, SC, and Eugene Byrd of North Carolina, and host of nieces and nephews.
Shorty was preceded in death by his siblings; Beulah Mae Byrd Little, Alice Byrd, James Byrd, and Willie Arthur Byrd.
The family will take visitors at: 1367 Charlottes Road, Clinton SC. Visitation will be Friday, April 29 at Floyd Family Funeral Home from 11am-5:30pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, beginning at 2pm at Floyd Family Funeral Home. Rev. John Booker will be the officiating minister.
