Mr. Raymond “Ray” Smith was born March 23, 1956, in Laurens County South Carolina to the late Lawrence Thomas Smith Sr. and Ella Cleveland Smith.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where he was a proud member of Laurens High School Class of 1975.
He dedicated many years of service as an employee of Ceram Tech, and Aaron Industries, from which he retired.
Raymond was very well known in his community, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his loving parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brother Mr. Lawrence Thomas Smith Jr.
On January 7, 2026, after a well-fought battle, Mr. Raymond Smith entered eternal rest at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Raymond “Ray” leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with his family: his son Tony (Marilyn) Smith of Clinton, SC; his life partner, Linda Oyeneyin of Clinton, SC; two granddaughters, Aquaries Smith of Tyler, TX; Anarriha Smith of Fountain Inn, SC; one brother: Robert (Carolyn) Smith of Laurens, SC; one cousin/brother, Willie J. (Gloria) Cleveland of Bellflower, CA; one niece Brittane Smith of Laurens, SC; two nephews; Thomas Smith and Ron Jackson both of Laurens, SC; three aunts; Bessie (William) Kilgore, and Sarah Beasley both of Laurens, SC and Mamie Lee of Greenwood, SC, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
There will be a visitation held on Sunday January 11th, 2026, starting at 2 pm at the Floyd Family Funeral Home, located at 202 Caroline St., Laurens SC.
Mr. Raymond "Ray" Smith's funeral service will held on Monday January 12th, 2026, at 2 pm at the Floyd Family Funeral Home.
