Michael “Mike” Dewitt Montgomery, age 66 of Laurens, SC passed away at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood on January 14, 2022. Mike was born to the late James and Hattie Mae Montgomery.

Mike attended Laurens County public schools and graduated from Laurens District 55 High School. After graduating high school, Mike enlisted in the Army National Guard, and later received his Associate Degree from Greenwood Technical College.

In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his four brothers, Willie Montgomery, Fred Montgomery, Charles Montgomery, Anthony Montgomery, and his sister, Betty Montgomery.

Mike is survived by five brothers; James (Mary) Montgomery of Clinton, SC, Ernest Montgomery of Laurens, SC, Calvin Montgomery of Laurens, SC, Richard (Louise) Montgomery of Oklahoma, Richard (Jane) Montgomery of Savannah, GA, six sisters; Patricia Montgomery of Laurens, SC, Deborah Montgomery of Laurens, SC, Barbara Choice of Laurens, SC, Virginia Bradley of Laurens, SC, Angela (Matthew) Holloway of Laurens, SC, and Tracy Montgomery of Laurens, SC, his step grandson Semay Townsend, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will take limited visitors at: 205 Joy Drive, Laurens SC. Floyd Family Funeral Home will be responsible for all arrangements. Visitation hours will be Friday, January 21. 2022 from 1pm-4pm at Floyd Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11am at Floyd Family Funeral Home.
