Mr. Johnny Leamon Jr, was born in Laurens, SC on August 24, 1946 and passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Laurens County Prisma Hospital in Laurens, SC
Mr. Leamon was the son of the late Mr. Johnny Leamon Sr. and Mrs. Annie Bell Leamon. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother Sammie Leamon.
Mr. Leamon was educated in the Laurens County School System, and pursued a career in the manufacturing industry in which he worked with J.P. Stevens and Watts manufacturing plants for a combined total of thirty-five years. As a member of the Laurens County community, he was a member of Beverdam Baptist Church of Enoree, SC, and had a strong passion for coaching baseball for many years.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty-five years Mrs. Gloria Leamon of the home; two sons, Johnny Leamon of Clinton, SC and Kendall Leamon of Laurens, SC; one brother, David Smith of Laurens, SC; one sister, Mary Cook of Laurens, SC; five grandchildren, Brienna Leamon of Roebuck, SC, Jasmine Leamon of Simpsonville, SC, Javarius Leamon of Athens, GA, Christopher Leamon of Weaverville, NC, and Ahlijah Hill of Greenwood, SC; two great-grandchildren, Tylan Leamon of Simpsonville, SC and DeMorrion Dogan of Roebuck, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Floyd Family Funeral Home will be responsible for all arrangements. The family will take visitors at the family's residence located at: 372 Winetta Street, Laurens SC. Visitation will be at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens on Wednesday, March 22 beginning at noon until 5pm. The funeral service will be at Beverdam Baptist Church in Enoree, SC beginning at 2pm, and interment will follow immediately at the Beverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend O.T. Hill of Beverdam Baptist Church will be the officiating minister.
