HERBERT EARL YOUNG

It is with heavy hearts that the Floyd Family Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Herbert Earl Young, affectionately known to the Laurens community as "Tunk." Born on Sunday, August 5th, 1956, in Laurens, South Carolina, Herbert peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by the love of his daughters and brother at his residence in Fountain Inn, SC.

Herbert was a dedicated and hardworking man, spending his career as a forklift driver at Disposzo in Fountain Inn. His commitment to his work and his community was evident to all who knew him. He was a beloved figure in Laurens, known for his warm spirit and generous heart.

Herbert was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Margie Hudgens, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

The family will be receiving visitors at the home located at 114 Corn Court, Ft. Inn SC.

Visitation for the community will be held on Friday August 14th at the Floyd Family Funeral Home located at 202 Caroline St., Laurens SC.

The Services for Mr. Herbert "Tunk" Young will be held on Saturday August 15th at the Pleasantview Baptist church beginning at 2 pm, with internment immediately following at the Westview Memorial Gardens located in Laurens SC.
