With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ms. Gail M. Smith, a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Surrounded by the love of her family, Gail took her final journey home, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on May 29, 1946, in Gloversville, NY, Gail was a woman of deep faith, and her love for the Lord was the guiding light of her life. She found joy in life’s simplest moments—getting lost in the pages of a good book, piecing together word puzzles, and reminiscing over classic TV shows. But above all, her greatest happiness came from the time spent with her grandchildren, with whom she created countless treasured memories. Her love for her family was boundless, and she poured her heart into caring for those around her.
Gail’s love and legacy live on through her children: her daughter Jennifer Doolittle and son-in-law Todd of Gray Court, SC; her sons Tim Smith and daughter-in-law Caitlin of Charleston, SC; and Troy Smith and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Palm Bay, FL, as well as her brother Donnie Morrison. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought endless joy to her life.
She now joins those who went before her: her daughter Brenda, her parents Lester and Alameda Blood, and her siblings Linda, Gary, and Larry. Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with them.
The family will honor Gail’s memory with a private ceremony, celebrating her life and the love she so freely gave. Her warmth, compassion, and steadfast faith will forever be remembered, and her gentle spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
