Mrs. Dorothy Williams was born in Laurens, SC on August 11, 1958, and passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Henry and Geneviève Boyce. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her sisters Mary Ann Gary and Eva Lou Pulley.
Dorothy was educated in the Laurens County School System and was a dedicated employee with the Whitten Center for over 35 years. She enjoyed word puzzle books, watching western movies, and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 42 years James Williams; her two children, Quincy Williams of Wareshoals, SC and Nikki Williams of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Sadie Boyce of Laurens, SC, and Gennie Scott (Alvin) of Clinton, SC; four brothers, James Boyce (Sharon) of Newberry, SC, Henry Boyce Jr (Bernice) of Laurens, SC, Arthur Lee Boyce (Sharon) of Wagner, SC, and Charles Boyce (Anjeanetta) of Simpson, SC; seven grandchildren, and a pet cat Gizmo. Dorothy was a mother, aunt, and grandmother to many that crossed paths with her throughout her life. She adopted several family members, and will leave them behind as well to cherish her memory.
The family will take visitors at: 245 Westcliff Drive, Laurens, SC. Visitation for the public will be Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 12pm - 5pm. The funeral service is Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens beginning at 3pm. Interment will be immediately following at Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Laurens, SC. Reverend Charles Boyce will be the officiating minister.
