DETOURIOS BARKSDALE Obituary
Mr. Detourios “Big Dee” Barksdale, age 35, departed this life on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was educated in the Laurens County School District and attended Laurens District 55 High School.
Big Dee was preceded in death by two sisters, Quneatla Swint and Jamie Barksdale, both of Laurens, SC; and by his grandparents Ms. Etta Nightly Bell Cunningham, Mr. Henry Gray Jr., Ms. Dorothy Barksdale Martin, and Mr. Elbert Thompson.
Cherishing his memory are his three beloved children: Tytianna Barksdale, Amir Barksdale, and Kasion Barksdale. He is also survived by his loving mother, Ms. Calratha Denise “Neet” Robison, and his father, Mr. Jamie Barksdale, both of Laurens, SC. Big Dee leaves behind five sisters, Kennita Robinson, Sierra Barksdale, Jaterica Walk, Chelsea Cheeks, and Ja'Mya Barksdale, who will deeply miss their brother.
Detourios “Big Dee” enjoyed many hobbies, including playing cards, Monopoly, and fishing. His greatest pastime, however, was playing PlayStation video games. He was a devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers, proudly embracing their signature blue and black colors. Known for his happy‑go‑lucky spirit, Big Dee loved to joke, laugh, and bring joy to everyone he encountered. His presence will be missed with each passing day, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens, SC.
