Minister Barbara Onita Choice, 66 of Laurens SC, a beloved member of our community. Born on February 11th, 1959, to the late Johnny Choice and Betty A. Montgomery, received her keys to heaven's gates on Tuesday, March 5th, 2025. She passed away at the Prisma Health Memorial Hospital.
Minister Choice attended Laurens County public schools graduating with the class of 1977, after which she attended Piedmont Technical College studying Accounting. Working several years with the Department of Transportation, Barbarba transitioned into another carrier, one that expanded over 33 years, working as a Customer Service Representative, for Laurens Electric Cooperative, While in her twenties she answered the call to serve from God and entered Seminary School, where she was licensed to minister. Minister Barbara Choice dedicated her life to serving others, Minister Choice founded the Reaching Hearts Touching Souls Ministry, a testament to her unwavering commitment to the Laurens community. She was later ordained at Redemption World Outreach. Her passion for sharing God's word was further demonstrated through her 2022 book "Restored" and her dedicated Tuesday evening Bible study, which she faithfully hosted until her health declined.
Minister Choice was also preceded in death by her older brother, Anthony Montgomery.
Minister Choice was survived by her ten siblings:
5 brothers Richard (Louise) Montgomery, James (Mary) Montgomery, Richard (June) Montgomery, Calvin Montgomery, Earnest Montgomery.
5 sisters Tracy Montgomery, Patricia Montgomery, Deborah (John) Johnson, Virginia Montgomery, Angela (Matthew) Holloway, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who will truly miss her. Her life was a testament of faith, service and devotion to her community and her beliefs.
Services for Minster Barbara Onita Choice were held on Tuesday, March 11th in the Floyd Family Funeral Home Chapel, and begun at 1 pm, while visitation was held on Monday, March 10th at the Floyd Family Funeral Home,
