WAYNE ROGERS Obituary
Mr. Wayne J. Rogers was born on August 11th, 1957, age 68. He received his heavenly wings on October 28th, 2025, at Hospice of Laurens, located in Clinton, SC. He was the son of the late Samuel Yeargin and Evelyn Hunter Rogers.
Wayne attended Laurens District 55 High School in Laurens SC and was a member of Mt. Vernon A.M.E. Church, also located in Laurens SC. He worked at several textile plants in the local area but eventually became a dedicated employee at the Enoree Mill.
He was a lifelong fan of basketball and absolutely loved to play and coach the game.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and father, along with five brothers, Booker T Rogers, Johnny B. Rogers, James (Jimmy) Rogers, Reginal McDowell and Sameul Yeargin
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Janice W. Rogers along with his children, Arthur Nadir Rogers, Tomika Craig, Crystal (Dajion) Franklin and Jonathan Williams. Five sisters, Gladys Rogers, Dorothy Johnson, Emma Jean Philson, Ada Barksdale and Phyllis Yeargin, along with five brothers Thomas Yeargin, Haskell Yeargin, David Yeargin, Johnny Yeargin and Gene Yeargin along with 12 grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Words of comfort will be delivered by Rev. Sandra Smith of Mt. Vernon A.M.E Church.
The family will be receiving visitors at the home located at 108 Holland Hill Rd. starting on Saturday November 1st at 12 noon.
Visitation will be from 1 pm until 4 pm on Sunday, November 2nd in the chapel of the Floyd Family Funeral Home.
The services for Mr. Wayne J. Rogers will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at 2 pm, at the Floyd Family Funeral Home, located at 202 Caroline St, Laurens SC.
Internment will be held at the Westview Memorial Park (Laurens) immediately following the service.
