Sue Sanders Obituary
Mrs. Sue Pearl Sanders of Laurens, SC , born July 8, 1932, passed away on May, 11 2023 at Langston Place Assisted Living in Clinton, SC.
Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of the late Postell and Lila Jones. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were three brothers, Frank (Elsie) Johnson, PC (Anna) Jones, and Arthur Lee (Elizabeth) Jones; and three sisters, Lola (Lamb) Lamb, Queen (Howard) Prince, and Dorah (Frank) Tolen.
Mrs. Sanders, affectionately known as "Boogie" to her family, was educated in the Laurens County Public Schools and was a graduate of Sanders High School. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Sanders worked in the manufacturing industry at the Laurens Shirt Plant for many years, and she also worked in the medical industry as a certified nursing assistant. Mrs. Sanders was a long time member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in which she served as a Bible teacher. She was well known throughout the community for her passion about teaching and sharing the Good News with the public every opportunity she had.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Edward Sanders of the home; her two sons, Wister Jones and Calvin Jones both of Laurens, SC; her sister, Eula Mae (Paul) Holland of Washington, DC; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.
The family will take visitors at: 304 East Hampton, Laurens SC. The visitation service is Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens from 11am - 4pm. The funeral service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 727 Whelon Road, Laurens SC beginning at 2pm. The committal will be held at Calvary Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
