Mr. Lawrence Thomas Smith Jr., received his wings on Wednesday, August 7th 2024 at the Prisma Health Memorial Hospital, Greenville SC.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ella Cleveland Smith and his father Lawrence Thomas Smith Sr along with his wife Carolyn Chappell Smith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories one son Thomas T. Smith of Clinton SC, one grandson, Elijah Coleman of Fountain Inn SC. Two brothers Robert (Carolyn) Smith and Raymond Smith both of Laurens SC. One niece Brittane Smith and two nephews Tony Smith and Ron Jackson all of Laurens SC. Three aunts Bessie (William) Kilgore and Sarah Beasley both of Laurens, Mamie Lee of Greenwood and a host of other family member and friends.

Lawrence was a member of the Laurens High School Class of 1971. He worked many years at Heat Treat in Fountain Inn SC and with the South Carolina Highway Department. Lawrence was also a longtime resident of the Hanson Circle Community where he will be dearly missed.


Visitation was held on Monday at the Floyd Family Funeral Home from 12 to 5 in the chapel.

Mr. Lawrence T. Smith services was held on Tuesday August 13th @ 1pm at the Floyd Family Funeral Home Chapel located at 202 Caroline St., Laurens SC
