Ms. Claudia Jeanine Garlington was born in Laurens County, South Carolina, on December 15, 1969, to the late Claude and Nancy Garlington. Jeanine, affectionately known as “Aunt Neen” by family and friends, had a generous heart, a witty personality, and a genuine love for everyone she encountered.
She was a graduate of Laurens District 55 High School, Class of 1988. Jeanine was an active member of New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. She was formerly employed by Winn-Dixie and Food Lion in Laurens County, South Carolina.
Jeanine’s kindness, strength, and deep love for her family will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be truly missed.
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Ms. Claudia Jeanine Garlington peacefully departed this life at her home in Laurens County, South Carolina, at the age of 55.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorithia Garlington.
She leaves to cherish her memory her life partner, Mr. Willie L. Yeargin, of the home; two sisters, Marithea “Neicy” Dendy and Erica (Charlton) Jackson; one brother, Patrick “Pat” Garlington; and two very special cousins, Mr. Leon (Jackie) Greene and Tyrone (Lizia) Garlington. She also leaves two godchildren, Keith Dorrah of Atlanta, Georgia, and Nadyah “Naynay” Garlington of Clinton, South Carolina.
Although she did not have children of her own, Jeanine was a loving mother figure to her nieces and nephews: Gerald Dendy, Jr., Cheryl "Trell" Jackson, Courtney Dendy, Eric Dendy, Keith (Whitney) Jackson, Moniqua Pulley, Nanciuna Garlington, Malik Jackson, Nicholas Fowler, Nekhyla Fowler, JeMarcus Garlington, Elijah Dendy, Karter Dendy, Kyndall Jackson, Jordan Stroud, Ellias “EJ” Stroud, and Zane Dendy. She also leaves special nieces Jaquetta Woodruff and Audrea Speaks; two special uncles, James “Jimmy” Garlington and Reverend Victor “Vick” Garlington; an aunt, Jackie Garlington; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Jeanine will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Friday at the Floyd Family Funeral Home Chapel from 12 until 5pm,
Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, December 20th at the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church located in Clinton SC.
Reverand David Kennedy, pastor of the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church will be delivering the Words of Comfort.
The family will be receiving visitor at 209 Lear Dr, Laurens SC. starting at 3 pm Monday thru Thursday.
