Mr. Butler (BJ) Jefferson Pitts Jr. age 71, received his wings on Monday, August 26th 2024 at the Prisma Health Hospital, Laurens SC.

BJ was born in Laurens SC and was preceded in death by his mother Maggie Peek Pitts and his father Butler Jefferson Pitts Sr.

BJ leaves behind to cherish his memories one son, Michael J Wormley Sr, currently residing in Clearwater Florida, one grandson, Michael J. Wormley Jr and one granddaughter Gabrielle Wormley, both of Laurens SC . Two brothers Stephen C Pitts Sr (Linda) and Derrell K. Pitts (Lois) both currently residing in Spartanburg SC. Three nieces Shameka N. Pitts, Rhonda Lindsay and Sonya Lindsay all of from Spartanburg SC , three nephews, Stephen C Pitts Jr (Danielle) of Rock Hill SC, Brandon J. Pitts of Boiling Springs SC and Simmund Lindsay of Spartanburg SC.

BJ was a graduate of the Laurens High School class of 1971 and a retired truck driver. You would always find BJ with a smile and a joke anytime you met him. BJ loved his church and was not only a member but made sure every Sunday the church bell was rung. BJ was a dedicated Trustee at St. Paul 1st Baptist Church in Laurens SC and absolutely loved singing on the male choir. Bass fishing and playing chess were just a couple of his hobbies.

Visitation for Mr. Butler (BJ) Pitts will be held on Monday September 2nd at the Floyd Family Funeral Home, Laurens SC, from 12 pm until 5 pm.

Services will be held on Tuesday September 3rd at 2 pm at the St. Paul 1st Baptist Church in Laurens SC.
Rev. Larry Chapman will be delivering the eulogy for the services.

Floyd Family Funeral Home is in charge of all service arrangements.
