Bobby Franklin Obituary

Bobby Joe Franklin was born in Clinton South Carolina on June 6, 1943 and passed away at his residence on November 30, 2021. He was the baby out of eleven children born from the late Ray Luther and Lina Williams Franklin.

Bobby graduated from Bell Street High School in Clinton SC. After graduating, Bobby relocated to New York City and met Lillian Tory, who then became his wife and the mother of his four children.

In 1977, Bobby became a member of Community Baptist Church in Jamaica, Queens in New York City. While as a Deacon, he served faithfully. In 1990, Bobby relocated back to Clinton. Throughout the years, Bobby was a skilled mechanic and trained in air conditioning and plumbing. He even had a Dodge van from 1981 that still runs quietly.

Preceding in his death were his parents, as well as five brothers, Johnny B Franklin, Willie J. Franklin, Sammy Lee Franklin, James Arthur Franklin and Luther Franklin along with four sisters, Annie Pearl Franklin, Mattie Lou Cannon, Beatrice Caldwell and Mabel Coleman.

Bobby is survived by four sons, Tyrone Franklin, Annandale VA, Darrell Franklin (Gloria), Red Springs NC, Durward Franklin, Bronx, New York, and Terrance Franklin, St Pauls, NC; one sister, Pauline Tyler, Queens, NY; two sisters-in-law Georgia Eva Franklin, Clinton SC, and Hattie Mae Franklin of Laurens, SC; one brother-in-law, Eugene Coleman Laurens, SC, three grandchildren, Jordan Franklin and Jonathan Franklin (Brooklyn, NY) and Janay Franklin (Chapel Hill, NC); a special niece, Linda Dunlap, Clinton, SC; a special nephew, Jerome Tyler, Queens, NY and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Floyd Family Funeral Home will be handing all arrangements. The funeral service will be Friday, December 10 at 11am at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens. Additional service details will be available later this week.
