Mr. Alfred Nelson Sheets of Enoree, SC, born November 2, 1943, passed away on August 14, 2023, at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA.
Mr. Sheets was the son of the late Marvin and Ruth Sheets. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Hattie Louise Sheets of the home; three sons, Alfred R. Sheets of Enoree, SC, Marvin Sheets of Philadelphia, PA, Bobby Arnold of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Frances and Lois Sheets both of Columbia, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Alfred was educated in the Fulton, MO public school system and enlisted in the US Army in 1965 upon graduating. While in the US Army, he was rewarded with several medals; a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After completing his term of service in the Army, he moved to New York and began his career in the trucking industry, which he remained for many years, even once he relocated to South Carolina. While working in the trucking industry, he owned his own business Sheets Trucking Company and worked for Pulliam Trucking Company as well.
The family will take visitors at 2527 Beaverdam Church Road, Enoree SC. Floyd Family Funeral Home will be responsible for all arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday, August 18 at Floyd Family Funeral Home in Laurens, SC from 12 pm-4 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, at Beaverdam Baptist Church, located at 680 Beaverdam Church Road, Enoree SC beginning at 1:30 pm. The Committal will be held at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
